Responsibilities
Tasks
Examine plans, drawings and site layouts
Inspect construction of building and engineering construction
Ensure compliance to drawings, specifications and building codes
Ensure electrical and plumbing installations meet government regulation
Inspect construction of sewer systems and pipelines
Inspect to ensure that safe working conditions are maintained
Inspect existing buildings for structural defects and fire hazards
Inspect and provide reports on condition of new or resale homes
Performs delamination surveys, corrosion potential surveys and concrete cover meter surveys of existing concrete structures.
Inspects concrete and reinforcing steel to ensure quality standards and to verify conformance to specifications and building codes.
Prepares reports of findings, noting location, type of structure, defects and extent of damage.
Ensures that safe working conditions are maintained in the office, laboratory and at construction sites.
Familiar working within TTC tracks and CN railroad
Knowledge of the Ontario Structure Inspection Manual (OSIM) and Structure Rehab Manual (SRM) are mandatory.
