Job Description

Worksite environment: Cold/refrigerated, Hot, Noisy, Odours, Outdoors
Work setting: Restaurant, Formal dining room, Room and board provided, Rural area, Cafeteria, Fast food, Coffee shop, Pub, Bistro
Responsibilities:
Tasks
Must be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages, Address customers’ complaints or concerns, and Prepare and serve specialty food at customers’ tables, Present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travelers cheques or room billings, Describe menu items including daily specials for customers, Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations, Advise on menu selections, Balance cash and record sales, , clear and clean tables, trays and chairs, Describe and advise on wine selection, Greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverages
Order and maintain inventory of wines and wine glassware, Perform sensory evaluation of wines, Serve food and beverages
Supervise other servers and bussing staff, Take orders and relay to kitchen and bar staff, Schedule staff
Train staff, Assist clients/guests with special needs, Provide customer service
Supervision:1 to 2 people
Credentials: Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses , Food and beverage server trade certificate
Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Program, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Food and Beverage Server Training, Responsible Beverage Service Certificate, Food Safety Certificate, Safe Food Handling certificate
Serving It Safe program certification, Serving It Right Certificate, ProServe program
CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate,
Experience and specialization: Computer and technology knowledge, Electronic cash register, Specialization or experience
Specialized environmental skills and knowledge

Own vehicle, Valid driver’s licence, Public transportation is not available
