Responsibilities
Tasks
• Examine job sites and take precise measurements to plan the layout and installation of hardwood flooring
• Prepare subfloor surfaces by removing old materials, cleaning, leveling, and repairing any imperfections
• Interpret work orders, sketches, or specifications to determine material requirements and installation methods
• Cut and shape hardwood planks using appropriate tools to ensure accurate fitting and alignment
• Install various types of hardwood flooring using suitable techniques such as fastening, adhesive application, or interlocking systems
• Ensure proper placement, spacing, and alignment to achieve a uniform and high-quality finish
• Perform sanding, staining, and sealing of hardwood floors to enhance appearance and longevity
• Fit and secure finishing components including baseboards, moldings, and transition strips
• Inspect completed flooring work and carry out adjustments or minor repairs where necessary
• Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
• Coordinate with supervisors or clients to ensure work meets project specifications and timelines
